Welcome to Cincinnatus Central School! We are a rural school with approximately 320 students in grades 5 through 12, located in Cortland County in central New York State. Our school is the center of a supportive and caring community. We strive to prepare our students to meet the challenges of the future while preserving their pride in the community’s heritage and traditions.
Cincinnatus Middle (grades 5-8) and High (grades 9-12) School’s academic programs are designed to provide our students with the knowledge and experiences necessary to achieve the New York State Common Core Learning Standards including 21st Century skills and strategies. In addition to required courses, our talented faculty offer interesting and popular electives to high school students in all subject areas, with many opportunities to earn college credits in English, social studies, mathematics, science, computer technology, health, and music. High School students also have the opportunity to enroll in honors level and Advanced Placement courses.
Our students participate in a broad variety of interscholastic athletics and other physical activities for both girls and boys, including soccer, basketball, volleyball, baseball, softball, track and field, golf, cheerleading, and weight training. We offer several after-school clubs and activities to choose from, for those students whose interests lie in music, art, drama, foreign language, computer technology, yearbook, and Student Senate. While academics and school functions fill most of their day, many of our students volunteer their free time to serve the needs of their community.
