The Department of Special Education for the Cincinnatus Central School District is committed to meeting the needs of students identified with an educational disability.  Students have an Individualized Educational Plan (IEP) that is developed and reviewed regularly by the Committee on Special Education (CSE) or Committee on Preschool Special Education (CPSE).   Cincinnatus Central School provides a free, appropriate, public education to students with disabilities, making every effort to educate our students in the least restrictive environment.  Our goal is to ensure that every student graduates our program with the ability to be an integral and productive member of our community.

The District provides a continuum of services to meet the needs of all of our students with disabilities.  Special education programs include services led by special education teachers, speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and audiology specialists.  It is the responsibility of the CSE to discuss the student's strengths and needs and to determine the appropriate program on an individual basis.  Programs vary by level, based on the curriculum and the needs of the present population.
